Natalie Osburn
Natalie has enjoyed playing sports and being active for as long as she can remember. She played basketball competitively in high school and in college. She ran to stay in shape for basketball, but really enjoyed all kinds of recreational activities that kept her moving. Before becoming a school administrator, she was a physical education and health teacher.
Once Natalie stopped playing competitive basketball, she looked for other competitive outlets. She began running in 5 and 10k runs as a way to challenge herself and stay in shape. Now in her early 40's she is discovering that cross training is the only way she can keep training at the level she finds most rewarding. She has been training with Judy Heller for over a year. Natalie has found that competitive race walking offers a challenge not only because of the aerobic fitness it provides, but because to race walk properly is a feat that is proving to be most challenging for this type "A" perfectionist.
Natalie is coordinating the first annual Willamette Valley 10k walk/run- a new event in conjunction with the Willamette Valley Relay “It is exciting to see people of all fitness levels and abilities compete in an event that is challenging to them and helps them meet their fitness goals”. She is looking forward to her work on the Wonders of Walking committee because it provides her with the chance to work with professionals in the fitness field. |
