After several years of training and walking the Portland Marathon, a friend talked about a relay race we might be interested in getting a team together and walking. The idea of getting some friends together and spend the weekend walking, swapping gossip and having fun while experiencing (what would become) a great sense of accomplishment sounded perfect. Thru the many years of walking and eventual work as a walk relay course official, I met and worked with Judy Heller. A brief job transfer out of Oregon occurred and upon my return in '03, I reengaged with Judy and her efforts to establish and produce the Willamette Valley Relay (WVR). I participate in several aspects in the production of the WVR; activity tracking and execution, team seeding, and volunteer management are just a few of my duties. But the very best duties are trouble shooting course issues during the race and working the Finish Table in Alton Baker Park. So, if I don't see you at the Captain's Meeting - I'll catch you at the Finish Table!
